After being without the Premier League, Liverpool already have all their efforts put into the Champions League final. This Saturday, at the Stade de France, the duel between the Reds and Real Madrid will be played.
Salha, who has already faced the Whites in the 2018 final, stopped by the conference room on UEFA’s Media Day and warned Ancelotti’s men right away: “I’m very excited and even more so because of what happened in the last final. And also for what happened on Sunday.”
About that defeat in Kiev, the Egyptian admitted the heavy blow felt at the time: “I remember that final as the worst moment of my career. After that season, getting injured in the 30th minute was very hard. I thought we couldn’t lose that way because it was our first Champions League final. And when we got back to the dressing room we all said that we would fight for everything again”.
Regarding his current season, this is what Salah had to say: “I think it was good. I always try to help my team. I ended up very disappointed after not qualifying for the Worlds, but I kept fighting and helping the team I always try to be positive and give my best to the team”.
On the other hand, the Liverpool forward referred to the arrival of Luis Díaz, a footballer who has great potential. “The impression we have is very good. He doesn’t speak English, but he is playing very well. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese with some of us and he is really important for our team”, he continued.
Lastly, Salah launched a face-to-face message with the final at the Stade de France. “It’s an important week and we are focused on winning. I want to see the trophy in Henderson’s hands again”, he concluded.
